This spell was inspired by the Dean Koontz novel Ashley Bell
“People hide truths about themselves from themselves. Such self-deception is a coping mechanism, and to one extent or another, most people begin deceiving themselves when they’re children.” -Dean Koontz Ashley Bell
🔥 This requires something to be burned. Modifications for a flameless spell will be added at the bottom.Â
You will need: A watch or clock that can be held or placed directly in front of you, a dark blue (or white) candle, a burn safe container, and a paper and writing utensil.Â
Optional: Something to hold out the paper, such as tongs, to make it easier to hold in the flame and burn.Â
When you first preform this spell, it’s best to be done during a new moon in a place you won’t be interrupted.Â
đź•° Start by lighting your candle.Â
🔥 Write on your paper the specific memory you need to forget. Try to be very concise, and close any loopholes you can think of.Â
đź•° Hold or place the watch in front of you and focus deeply on it’s ticking. Say aloud (or in your head) the following: “Everything around me is fading. I am surrounded by a gentile fog. My muscles and thoughts are relaxed as each tick passes from the clock in front of me. This is the forgetting spell. Once destroyed by the flame, the memory written on my paper will no longer be accessible within me. I allow my self to forget.”Â
🔥 Burn your memory using the flame from your candle. (The ash can be disposed of however you see fit.)
Flameless Alternatives:Â
đź’§ Rip your paper into very small bits and release it into flowing water such as into a stream or down the toilet.Â
🌲 Rip your paper into very small bits and burry it in the ground away from you.
For the speaking part replace “destroyed by the flame” with “released into the water” or “buried in the earth” based on the method you use.
