☽ Demons For Beginners ☾

This is an updated version of THIS post which is a bit outdated. 

This is something that tends to very from individual to individual. There isn’t really a true safe for beginners species because every species has their assholes. Sometimes, even if a demon or species is labeled as good for beginners individuals may feel uncomfortable working with beginners. This is just a list of those who as a species are USUALLY safe for beginners. This is not a definite . 

☽💀☾ Demons That Are Good For Beginners☽💀☾

Ajna Demon : A three eyed psychic demon with large leathery wings and horns. They feed on energy , mostly psychic energy and chakra. They can use their third eye to see bits of the future , find anyone anywhere and create portals to them , see your most important memories and fears but they can not read your thoughts. They can help you open your third eye and learn more about intuition and discernment.  

Hellcats: Hellcats are a breed of demonic feline that can come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Hellcats have a knack for communicating with their keepers and becoming very attuned to their needs and can responded accordingly in times of distress. They are very independent and prefer smaller spirit families preferably with mostly demonic or dark arts companions. They may often wander off for alone time or like to keep watch of your home.

Hellhounds : Hellhounds are a breed of demonic canine that very in dog types , sizes , and even head number. The most well known hellhound is Cerberus from greek mythology. They have impeccable strength and hearing and they have the ability to be silent, melding into the shadows to track their target. They tend to be very protective, alert, territorial , and dominating but can also be quite playful and even cuddly.

The Imitari : These dolls are a strange kind of ball jointed glass that looks and feels like skin but breaks like glass would. Their life source is not connected to the body of the doll but to the string that moves their limbs. This ‘string’ is what they are, no matter how many times you break the doll they will reform as long as the string remains in tact. The string can even repair small breaks in itself. The only thing they can not heal/fix are their eyes, hair, and paint.  The dolls do not feel pain and have no real ‘abilities’ aside from the ability to fix themselves and immortality. They act the way their creators intended them to by planning out their appearance and personality traits. They can be a bit two dimensional.

Oolull : Owl like demons usually ranging from 10-20 feet tall in their natural form. Their natural form is like a very tall humanoid owl with insanely long arms and legs. They will at times take on a human form which can look anyway they please but still maintains their large wings. Oolull’s are able to sense negative energy and they feed on it, they do not cause it though. They use their abilities as a means to comfort people, taking away negative energy and leaving them calm. They are very sensitive to light and will likely hide away during the day and come out at night.

☽💀☾ Demons That Are Bad For Beginners☽💀☾

Circus Larvartum: While there are many types of larvartum there are only three out of the size groups you can really work with. With Warrior and Theater Larvartum it is much more dependent on the individual and theater larvartum are the safest group for beginners but I DO NOT advise that beginners attempt to work with a circus larvartum. They can be violent, unpredictable, and unstable. 

Corvivia: Corvivia are a species of demon that feeds on the hearts of other entities.They do not eat hearts to survive, they drink blood to survive but they eat the hearts of those they defeat as apart of their victory. After they eat the heart of another entity they absorb their power. Not like they gain whatever abilities that entity had, like they gain their physical and magical energy/strength. It makes them stronger, faster, heightens their senses and intuition. While these beings aren’t inherently violent they may be a bit too much for beginners.

Dēvorātum

: These demons fit almost every stereotype about demons you can think of.  Their entire existence is fueled by the obsessive borderline sexual desire for blood. This can at times make them irrational and uncontrolled. They consume blood in anyway they can manage, drinking it, eating raw meat, they are even capable of absorbing blood through their skin which leads to blood bathing. These demons eat to fill a never ending hunger and they are not limited to just hurting others to satisfy this craving. They will even cut themselves, rip off their own limbs, or bite off their own fingers. None of these things seem to hurt them and they are never fatal as the the lost body part/ wound heals itself/grows back the more blood they consume. The older the  Dēvorātum the more likely they will be very dangerous and unstable.

Nightmare Shifter: A shape shifter that can see your worst fears and nightmares. They can change into them bringing your fears to life. They feed on fear and nightmares. They are good for revenge magick, cursing , and protecting you and your home by scaring off anything that comes near. For beginners their energy could seem threatening and they tend to cause paranoia in those with less experience (unsure if they do it intentionally or not) It’s only recommended you work with them if you have another spirit that can counteract this.

Ördög: A shape-shifting demon from Hungarian and Turkic mythology that personifies the dark and evil aspects of the world. They mostly take the form of something similar to a faun with dark hooves, horns, and a pointed tail. They can also take the forms of foxes, black flames, humans with black eyes, and other things. These beings are highly intelligent and can be very helpful but they aren’t the charitable sort. Asking one for help will put you in their debt and you do not want this. 

Shadow Demon: A species of demon skilled with illusions, revenge, and protection magick. They are trouble makers and need someone who will make sure they don’t wander off to torment some poor human. They can appear as a shadowy figure or not at all, able to be invisible to even other spirits.
